About the Job:
To provide technical and coordination support to county-level implementation of the Economic Inclusion Programme (EIP), working closely with Government of Kenya stakeholders to strengthen delivery systems, enhance coordination, and ensure effective implementation of programme activities.
The role serves as a key interface between the programme and county-level government structures, supporting integration of livelihoods, training, and MEL components within government-led systems.
This is a hands-on role requiring extensive field engagement across communities and county structures.
Responsibilities
Job Description
1. County Coordination & Implementation Support
· Support planning and coordination of programme activities at county level in collaboration with government teams
· Track implementation against agreed plans and timelines and follow up on key actions
· Identify and address bottlenecks that may affect delivery
2. Government Engagement & Systems Strengthening
· Work closely with county and sub-county government teams, including the Directorate of Social Development, NDMA and other stakeholders.
· Provide on-the-job training and continuous capacity building to government teams to strengthen implementation of programme approaches and systems
· Support strengthening of systems and structures for programme delivery
· Facilitate coordination through relevant government platforms and processes
3. Technical Support & Integration
· Provide on-the-ground technical support across livelihoods, training, and MEL components
· Ensure integration of programme components to support coherent delivery
· Support adaptation of programme approaches to local contexts
4. Field Engagement & Oversight
· Maintain regular presence in the field to support implementation and monitor progress
· Engage with communities, frontline teams, and local stakeholders
· Ensure programme approaches are applied consistently and effectively
5. Partner Coordination
· Coordinate with implementing partners and stakeholders at county level
· Ensure alignment of activities and strengthen collaboration
6. Monitoring, Reporting & Accountability
· Track programme progress at county level and support data collection and verification
· Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and risks
· Support timely reporting and follow-up on key issues
7. Problem Solving & Adaptive Support
· Identify implementation challenges arising from operational or institutional constraints
· Work with government and programme teams to develop practical solutions
· Support adaptive approaches to improve programme performance

Requirements
Qualifications:
1. Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Economics, Social Sciences, or related field
· 6–10 years’ experience in programme implementation within development or humanitarian contexts
· Strong experience working in ASAL or similar contexts
· Experience working with government systems and multi-stakeholder programmes
2. Core Competencies
· Strong coordination and stakeholder engagement skills
· Ability to work effectively within government-led systems
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
· Ability to manage complexity and navigate institutional processes
· Strong communication and reporting skills
