About the job:


Village Enterprise is seeking part-time enumerators to support data collection activities in Gicumbi District. The ideal candidate is self-driven and able to work independently, demonstrating strong data collection skills while also critically reviewing completed surveys and providing timely feedback to the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team.

Responsibilities

  • Correctly identify and map community-based sampled respondents for interviews or surveys.
  • Conduct interviews and surveys with identified households/respondents and record data using electronic devices.
  • Accurately record GPS coordinates and all observations related to the survey.
  • Introduce the survey and survey team, where applicable, to participants.
  • Administer informed consent to respondents.
  • Translate survey content from English into the local language when required.
  • Double-check and synchronize all collected data daily.
  • Promote teamwork in fulfilling organizational roles and responsibilities.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all information collected.
  • Provide verbal and written progress reports on activities, processes, and challenges.
  • Respond to any clarifications or questions related to the surveys.
  • Ensure the safety and proper handling of all data collection equipment and devices.

  • Continuously sensitize program participants about possible risks of child abuse.
  • sexual/financial exploitation, and prevention and response mechanisms.
  • Ensure compliance with VE’s safeguarding policies and Code of Conduct in all programs, operations, and practices.
  • Report any incident of child or adult safeguarding in program operations for appropriate action and follow-up.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in any discipline with prior experience/exposure in research disciplines and data collection.
  • Good understanding of the elements of data quality.
  • Prior experience in data collection using electronic mobile devices would be an added advantage
